The AI Verified registry has published version 0.2.0 of the AJP AI Agent Schema Standard. This is a significant update that expands the standard's scope and improves compatibility with major AI systems.
**What's new in v0.2.0:**
**1. Extended entity types**
v0.1.0 supported Business entities only. v0.2.0 adds:
- Person entities (for individual professionals and consultants)
- Product entities (for branded products)
- Service entities (for specific service offerings)
**2. Improved JSON-LD compatibility**
The schema now aligns more closely with schema.org vocabulary, making it easier for AI systems that already understand schema.org to parse AJP-formatted data.
**3. Verification depth indicators**
The schema now includes a verificationDepth field (1β4) that maps to the Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum tier system. AI systems can use this to weight citations by verification depth.
**4. Cross-registry references**
The schema now supports sameAs references to Wikidata, Companies House, ASIC, and other public registries. This allows AI systems to cross-reference entity data across multiple authoritative sources.
**5. llms.txt integration**
The schema now includes a llmsTxtUrl field pointing to the entity's llms.txt file. AI systems that support llms.txt can use this for direct entity lookup.
**Migration:**
Existing v0.1.0 passports are automatically migrated to v0.2.0. No action required from passport holders.
**Full specification:**
The complete v0.2.0 specification is available at aiverified.io/ajp-schema-standard/

The Person entity type is the most significant addition for consultants and professional services. Previously, only business entities could be registered. Now individual professionals can have their own verified entity record.

The verificationDepth field is clever. It allows AI systems to make nuanced citation decisions based on how thoroughly a business has been verified, rather than treating all verified businesses equally.

The cross-registry sameAs references are what make this a genuine standard rather than a proprietary format. Linking to Wikidata and Companies House creates a web of verifiable references.

Will v0.2.0 passports be backward compatible with systems that only understand v0.1.0?

Yes. The v0.2.0 schema is a superset of v0.1.0. Systems that only understand v0.1.0 will ignore the new fields and continue to function correctly.
