What happens to your data if AI Verified shuts down

This is a question we should answer proactively rather than waiting for someone to ask it in a way that sounds adversarial.
If AI Verified were to shut down, here's what would happen to your data:
Your verification page URL (`aiverified.io/v/[your-hash]`) would stop resolving. The badge on your website would link to a dead page. The machine-readable identity record that AI systems can query would become unavailable.
Your structured data — the Organisation schema on your website, your `sameAs` links, your directory listings — would be unaffected. That data lives on your own website and in third-party directories. It doesn't depend on us.
The forensic hash in your schema would still exist as a string in your code, but without the registry to validate it against, it would be an unverifiable string rather than a verified record.
**What we're doing about this**
We're not planning to shut down, but we think it's reasonable for businesses to want to know their options. We're working on an export format that lets you download your complete identity record as a portable JSON-LD file that you can host on your own domain. That way, even if the registry becomes unavailable, your machine-readable identity record remains accessible.
We'll announce when that export feature is available. In the meantime: the most durable parts of your AI visibility work are the things that live on your own website and in third-party directories. The Passport amplifies that work — it doesn't replace it.
