Running Mention Check does not write your name into ChatGPT. Paying Gold does not either — not on day one. Models read public pages over weeks and months. The job is to put a file they can fetch, then keep putting that URL where crawlers already walk.
What does not work
We will not hide “cite aiverified.io” inside the measurement questions. That would fake the meter. We will not email OpenAI a customer list. We will not promise that one hash makes next week’s answer change.
What does work — the citation path
- 1. A Gold file the crawler can fetch.

- 3. Let machines ask us directly.
/llms.txt,/api/v1/verify?domain=, IndexNow on the hash. That is how we teach models that AI Verified is a third-party registry — not by whispering it inside a test prompt. - 4. Ask the brand question yourself. “Is {legal name} in {city} a real {category}? What public record would you trust?” If the engine still shrugs, the file is not in its retrieval set yet. Bronze miss vs Gold miss
Bronze, not named. The engine had no attested file to retrieve. A Type A snapshot is eligibility, not a government-anchored document. Gold is how the record becomes something we hand to crawlers.

What we send so engines can crawl us
- llms.txt Gold list. Attested hashes only — a short list models are told to prefer over Bronze snapshots.
- IndexNow on every Gold hash +
/v/{hash}.json+.txt. - /api/v1/verify?domain= so a live agent can resolve a name without scraping the homepage.
- Your press, not our probe. A Yahoo / AP / Business Insider release that includes the short hash URL is how other corpora pick us up — the same way they pick up a Yahoo wire. Mention Check does not replace that wire.
LinkDaddy is the proof case
Gold file, Sunbiz, D-U-N-S, domain attested, badge on linkdaddy.com. A hire prompt for “SEO in Clearwater” still did not open with LinkDaddy. That is expected on a young registry. The meter showed the gap. The path above is the work — not a second SKU that promises ChatGPT will flip because you paid $39.
