A property manager asks Perplexity for a general contractor in their city. The answer will quote a website, a registry, or a directory. If your legal name is on the contract and a short trading name is on the site, the model may treat those as two firms.
Construction companies also collect licences, insurance language, and office addresses that never make it onto the homepage. The humans know. The crawler does not.
Publish the company, then the yards
Parent file: legal name, head office, website you control, phone. Location files: each yard or office you want named in a city collection. Keep the primary trade honest — general contractor, not every sub-trade you once bid.
If a state publishes your contractor licence, Gold can point at that page after the owner attests it. That is a government lookup. It is not this site pretending to be the state.
Gold is $297 a year for the company file. Locations are listed as locations. Read why this exists.
