Why evidence versions exist
A directory row that never changes and never says what was checked is weak evidence. AI Verified passports append evidence versions — source system, approval state, timestamps — so a reader can see the observation history.
Typical early versions include Type A eligibility observation and public profile observation. Later versions may record geo enrichment, association fills, or Gold attestation events.
Freshness policy (tiered)
- Bronze / Silver (free path) — no monthly paid re-observation obligation. Records remain published as classified identity evidence without a scrape tax that would make selectivity unaffordable.
- Gold — freshness re-observation policy applies as part of paid packaging ($297/year), so attested records do not silently rot while carrying badge and hub priority.
This split is deliberate economics: free tier sustainability + paid tier currency.
What freshness is not
Freshness is not a promise that every field is live-synced to Google every hour. It is a policy of periodic re-observation for Gold packaging and transparent versioning when evidence changes.
